Before we start running our UX check, the very first thing we do is ensure that you have Google Analytics installed on your site (or a similar analytics program) so we can understand the following user behaviour:

  • Bounce Rate
  • Landing & Exit Pages
  • Behaviour Flow
  • Goals and Conversions

The next step involves adding a little snippet of code to activate the heat map tracking. Heat Map tracking enables us to see a visual representation of your visitor’s click, move and scroll behaviour. The Heat Map tracking software also enables us to record your visitor’s sessions so we can identify any navigation or usability issues.

To give us a deep understanding of user behaviour on your website, we typically run the Heat Map Tracking for a period of 1 week. Depending on the volume of traffic to your website, this should enable us to gather a minimum of 100 – 1000 visitor engagements to study.

Once we have this data we can then get to work taking a deep dive on the front end of your website and incorporate the Google Analytics and Heat Map Tracking data into our findings. Screen shots of both the Heat Map Tracking and the Google Analytics data will appear in your final report.
